Made From Scratch Old-Fashioned Cooking

Wow. Has it been that long since a dream of Gloria Yoder (The Mrs. in Mrs. Yoder’s) has become a reality. Together with her son Trent and a niece and nephew Robert & Laura Burkholder, work with nearly 75 employees to make sure you have a fine dining experience and customer satisfaction. Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen is an Amish style restaurant but Gloria likes to give it a bit of change. Gloria was always interested in cooking. Her mother was always a meat and potatoes person because that is what Dad liked, but Gloria wanted to experiment and try new food and recipes. She could do this through the 4-H program which she was very active in her teenage years and also an adviser for 20 years. She enjoyed 4-H so much she dreamed that some day she would work with some kind of food program. Thus at the age of 46 a restaurant in Mt. Hope became a reality, located in a small town not really a destination point in Amish Country. Everyone said it can’t be done, no one will come to Mt. Hope just to eat but she is a determined lady. When someone says she can’t do something she works all the harder to accomplish it. Just ask her husband Eli.

The restaurant in Mt. Hope, Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen, has become a reality and a success. Mrs. Yoder has been serving plates of mouth watering food to tourists and local folks alike for over 20 years.
