Kauffman's Country Bakery, One of the Largest Bakeries in Amish Country
Posted by Ohio Amish Country Guide on 3rd Nov 2014
Whether you live in the area or are visiting Amish Country, you don’t want to miss Kauffman’s Country Bakery. Brothers Steve and Richard Kauffman have offered delicious baked goods since 1992, selling a wide variety of delightful goodies ranging from breads, cookies, cakes,
and pies to jams, jellies, spreads, and souvenirs. It is one of the largest bakeries in Ohio Amish Country, with all products made fresh on-site for the customer’s enjoyment.
Twenty Amish and Mennonite women work in the bakery. On an average day, they bake 250 loaves of bread (on some days it has been as high as 700), 100 dozen cookies, and more than 100 pies. The bakery is nestled in Bunker Hill Village, across from Heini’s Cheese between Berlin and Winesburg. They will happily ship any item in the store. Customers can come right to the bakery to pick up their items, or they can find fresh Kauffman’s bakery products available at 16 retail outlets in various Ohio communities. For customers who want to do their shopping online, more than 120 items are listed on the online order form. Just select the item and quantity, while providing information about yourself, and Kauffman’s will contact you about payment arrangements.
The café offers dine-in or take out opportunities for lunch. Customers can choose their favorite breads and cheese for their sandwich orders. We will customize it for you! “We also have an ice cream parlor with milk shakes, smoothies, and frappuccino. And we offer a line of bulk foods in our bakery,” Kauffman said.
