This fall marks 42 years, that Miller’s Dutch Kitch’n has been dishing-out satisfaction, in every plate! In 2011, they were listed in an article by CNN.com as a 2011 Hometown Favorite! One popular Cleveland website states, “Considered by many frequent visitors to be the Best Authentic Amish restaurant in Ohio’s Amish Country. Customers come from every part of Ohio (and beyond!) to sample their “renowned” broasted chicken! Their recipe is a guarded secret and their chicken is unlike any other restaurant in Amish Country! or in the USA, for that matter! “It’s amazing!”, says Kelly Yoder -owner. “I can’t go anywhere in Ohio and talk to someone who doesn't know about our restaurant! Even if chicken is not high on your favorite food list, they are also very well known for their roast beef, ham, swiss steak and prime rib! In addition to their specialties, Miller’s also serves their vegetable and chili soup made from family recipes from many decades ago. They also make their salad dressings, potato salad, macaroni salad, and coleslaw (from scratch!) right in their kitchen! Sweet & sour and french are the most popular salad dressings that they have!
Many customers will get carry-out containers of the dressings, to take home with them! Some from as far away as the state of Maine! Miller’s has one of the largest menu varieties in the area with over 12 meat entrees, 20 different side dishes, and desserts galore! And all of the dinner entrees feature 3 side-dishes for a reasonably low price! You won’t find 3 sides to any dinner entree anywhere in Amish Country! All foods are prepared under the capable, skilled hands of long-time cooks Verby and Mandy, who have been with Miller’s for 30 years. But that’s not where it stops; Miller’s also has 2 other employees with over 20 years of employment! Pie-baker Katie and prep-cook Mary Sue who both make sure that there are plenty of mashed potatoes, dressing, and noodles to go around!
Kelly is also quick to point out the noodles on the menu. “We are well-known for our skinny egg noodles! They are homemade by an Amish couple in nearby Sugarcreek. We even sell them in their non-cooked, carry-out packages!” And if you like desserts, there’s no need to shy away from trying some of Miller’s homemade “soft-serve” vanilla ice cream or their famous rhubarb, pumpkin, and peanut butter pies! Their soft-serve vanilla is made from scratch right in their very own kitchen!
Miller’s has daily Lunch Specials that feature a variety of dishes that you won’t normally find on their menu! Saturday mornings feature an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet served until 10:30am.
